Hormone disruption can lead to many women’s problems these include issues with periods, poor mood and decreased energy. Dr. Komer is an expert at solving these problems and caring for patients with these issues.
The Komer Women’s Health Clinic has always been an innovator of new therapies. There has been a great need for problems such as vaginal dryness, vaginal itching, vaginal burning, painful intercourse (dyspareunia) and bladder issues such as pain, urgency, frequency and stress incontinence (losing urine when coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercising). Some of the women in the past have had partial success with past treatments but many women have so been left with inadequate results. Dr. Komer has now acquired one of the first lasers in Canada to treat these problems. He has evaluated the equipment that has recently been approved by Health Canada and has found the Komer Laser system to be far superior. He has trained with two top experts in the United States and is now offering this innovative and successful therapy to Canadian women.
But Dr. Komer and his wife Joan have carried out seven clinical trials on low sex drive in women. He had one of the largest groups in the world participating in the clinical trial on the new medication which is now available in the United States and hopefully soon will come to Canada. Dr. Komer has written treatment protocols published by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for hormone replacement therapy in women and for therapies to increase libido or low sex drive in women. He counsels and treats women for this very common and upsetting problem.
