Dr. Larry Komer, MD, FRCSC, is a Canadian physician whose career has brought together clinical medicine, medical research, education and an enduring commitment to helping people enjoy healthier, more fulfilling lives.
As founder of Komercare — The Komer Clinics, Dr. Komer has devoted decades to understanding the relationships among hormonal health, brain function, physical vitality and healthy aging.

A Distinguished Medical Career
Dr. Komer received his medical education at Queen’s University and completed his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University.
Beginning his medical practice in Burlington, Ontario, in 1976, he established a distinguished career in women’s healthcare, delivering thousands of babies and introducing advanced gynecological procedures and innovative approaches to patient care.
His professional interests subsequently expanded into men’s hormonal health, medical research, sports medicine, brain injury and cognitive health.
Throughout his career, he has combined clinical practice with teaching, research and professional education.
Expanding the Understanding of Health
Dr. Komer’s experience in obstetrics and gynecology provided a foundation for his continuing interest in the role of hormones throughout life.
His work evolved to include the assessment of hormonal health in both women and men, and the relationship between hormonal function, energy, mood, physical health and cognitive well-being.
Recognizing the importance of hormonal function following certain brain injuries, he also developed a particular clinical interest in concussion and traumatic brain injury.

His professional background also includes university medical education, hospital practice and involvement in sports medicine, including service with professional and national lacrosse teams.
